DESCRIPTION
Level 0 resembles a coniferous forest that appears to sprawl infinitely in all directions on a scale seemingly defying comprehension. The Hollow Trees which dominate this environment rise to impossible heights, shimmering faintly with an otherworldly luminescence that flickers like a static screen. Beyond their reach, no definitive horizon is observable at any point; the landscape melts into the same galaxial haze as the sky at a distance of approximately 50 kilometers, suggesting severe spacial distortion and possible procedural generation and destruction of terrain. There is no sun, moon, or discernable day-night cycle, rendering clocks and compasses completely useless. Time inside Level 0 behaves extremely erratically and is reduced to an imperceptible crawl, with minutes stretching like hours and hours melting away into the darkness, leaving those unfortunate enough to fall stranded in the dark beneath a star-studded sky. However, there are no threats to life here, bodily functions such as breathing, eating, etc. are no longer necessary, and the Fallen are cradled by the darkness.
GATEWAYS
Level 0 may be accessed via Rifts that can be torn open by the powerful energy experienced with strong emotional states, for example:
♡ Deep desire, lust, limerence, or obsession with one's beloved
♡ A longing to escape from your current setting, body, or life
♡ Fixation on unattainable desires eg. beauty, love, happiness
♡ Protective instincts
♡ Self-loathing and self-destructive behaviour
♡ Lust for power, control or revenge
♡ Grief, loss, and abandonment
There are also specific conditions that make the formation of a new Rift more likely, including:
♡ A full or new moon
♡ Rare meteorological phenomena eg. ball lightning, meteor landings, solar flares, etc.
♡ An exceptionally strong radio, cellular, or Wi-Fi signal
There are several Gateways within Level 0 that grant access to other Levels, such as:
♡ Level 1 can be accessed by following a Wish Path
♡ Level -1 can be accessed by staring, touching, or falling into water
Proceed with extreme caution as there is no known exit or reversal to falling into The Yearning.
LIFEFORMS
No physical lifeforms aside from Hollow Trees exist in this desolate enviroment but Spectres frequently roam.
